HISTORY

Chlodnia we Wloclawku, a freezing plant, was established as a state-owned company in 1952. The plant was involved in freezing fruits and vegetables, manufacturing various frozen ready meals and vegetable products, as well as providing freezing and deep- freezing services.

Through the years the plant's management has successfully developed both its production of frozen ready meals and freezing services, as well as supplied Polish and foreign markets with the company's products. In the '80s, the Company started exporting its products, mainly cooked meat-vegetable products, to the German market. Since then, hundreds of tons of cooked meat have been exported to Germany. The output has risen year after year and new frozen foods have been continuously added to the production line.

The main shareholder of RUN Chlodnia is RUN Polish-American Joint-venture Company. Established in 1992, RUN j.v. processes sweet corn and produces corn on the cob. The venture has proven to be a great success. The excellent American sweet corn is grown in the rich Polish soil of the Kujawy region and processed by RUN according to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards. Thanks to its commitment to high quality, RUN has acquired Polish clients such as Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Pizza Hut, various supermarket chains, and others. Not long after its founding, it began exporting corn to KFC and Pizza Hut in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia, as well as Prague, Czech Republic. In 1999 RUN started producing sweet corn kernels. As result of continuously increase of demand for sweet corn we have enlarged crops of corn to 500ha.
